The Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy is a restrictive operation which involves removing a portion of the stomach leaving only a long, narrow strip or “sleeve”. By removing the part of the stomach that helps stimulate hunger, the appetite is diminished, less food is consumed, and patients lose weight.
